It has been a little more than a week since the last time I posted an update! There are several things happening with school that are keeping us busy!
6th Grade - Doughnut sales are done! We had our parent meeting for Outdoor Ed last night. If your student did not get the packets, I have extra ones in my room. Please make sure they get one of those packets from me, as they contain important information and permission slips that we need to have in order for them to go on the trip. We are currently studying different properties that are used to identify and separate substances. Ask your student about freezing point, and boiling point to give them a quick quiz!
7th Grade - We just finished watching a video about the Ring of Fire! We are talking about volcanoes and mountains and how those structures are related to plate tectonics. We will be taking our test here next week and moving onto the Geologic Time Scale.
8th Grade - We are currently working on a project where the students will be meteorologists. They have to make up a believable forecast for a specific location, and they will be presenting these forecasts to the class. I am really excited about this project and I am eager to see how their knowledge about weather and what causes the weather has grown.
I am really excited with how the year is going so far! Please make sure that you are staying on top of your grades and keeping up with your work in all of your classes. We have three weeks until the end of the quarter!!
